Wolf?

I wonder if this is one of the wolves that Ken Harris animated. Has anybody seen these wolves pencil tests?

Maybe it was the wolf-heads that the Thief encounters when he steals fruit from the Princess's bed?? That scene is in the final film; it would be interesting if that scene was the earliest animation that survived into Richard's workprint.

I did some work on that section with the huge dogs in the Fur Rug sequence. That's not it. I remember seeing the boxes with the Ken Harris scenes on the shelves. We would have used them as reference at least if they would have been connected with the Fur Rug sequence. A good candidate for earliest animation could be the Brigand's dirty laugh which appeared in the Clapperboard documentary.

Wolves, dogs? I always thought they were strangely designed polar bear skins-a rare luxury as befitting a Princess's living quarters?

1) Out of curiosity, Matt J., how could they possibly look like polar bears?

2) Trivial note: That sequence seems to be the only time any of the key characters (with the exception of Tack the cobbler) actually notice that the Thief exists. This, to me, is the greatest loss the story experiences in the Miramax version, when the Thief is acknowledged on-screen by King Nod.
